Organic Apples

posted Sep 14, 2011 12:34 PM by Craig Anderton

The heat of summer is now starting to wane, the leaves are starting to make their short trip to the ground, fall must be approaching! With fall comes beautiful colors and apples. This year we feel really lucky to be getting this fruit because the seasons have been really harsh. Fruit has been adversely affected and the farmers yield is just a fraction of what it was last year.

With that in mind, we again feel lucky that we have fruit AND that the price of these apples have not changed! We look forward to giving you the best we have to offer in Organic and Pesticide-free apples this season. Please go to our order page to see what we have.

Organic Northwest Raspberries & Blueberries

posted Aug 10, 2011 6:10 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Aug 10, 2011 6:23 PM ]

Organic Blueberries & Raspberries

This year we wanted berries and it's been a struggle to get them to you because of the weather and our personal lives have been hectic! But, for the next week we are offering you Organic Raspberries and Blueberries grown right here in the Puget Sound region.
What makes these different is the fact that they are local, organic and the farmers have been growing them for years so they know what it takes for good-tasting berries.
They are priced below what you will find anywhere in the area for local organic berries. The come in 6 half-pint (half-flat) boxes ready to eat. We hope you love them as much as we do.
Thanks for being patient with us as we worked to get them in your hands!

2011 Peaches, Nectarines & Pears

posted Aug 10, 2011 5:47 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Aug 10, 2011 6:08 PM ]

I just gave an estimated number of boxes ordered for our 2011 Peaches, Nectarines & Pears - He said that we could keep ordering open until Sunday or Monday, August 14th or 15th! That's a good thing if you have had to wait until now to order. This fruit is SO good that we make sure we have enough to last all year long by freezing, canning and even drying it. The farmer indicated that they have just 25% of the crop they did last year - we feel REALLY lucky they are fulfilling our orders.
We are excited for all of you to get your fruit, especially those of you that are new. We look forward to seeing all of you around the 3rd of September!

Bing and Rainier Cherries

posted Jun 7, 2011 9:58 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Jun 21, 2011 8:46 PM ]

Cherries for 2011 are here!
For the 6th year in a row we have Bing and Rainier cherries from Eastern Washington coming to us around the 20th of June. The last 24 hours since we opened the doors for ordering has been a frenzy! Folks want their cherries! This year we are lucky enough to get more Rainiers than we ever have.

Each year our family has increased their consumption of cherries along with creative ways to preserve them and use them in the coming months. Freezing and canning are at the top of the list. This year we are making a push to really lower the amount of sugar in our diet - I mean REALLY lower or eliminate it. So far, with Raw Honey being on our list of things we enjoy, we have done well in our goal. This summer, we plan to use lots of fruit to replace the popsicles and ice cream we are so fond of. No, we can't totally stay away from ice cream but it's good to have a sweet but healthy alternative in the freezer to cool us down. We know you will enjoy these mouth-watering summer treats as much as we do - at the price we are offering them, one box won't do!

Honey!

posted Jan 26, 2011 2:56 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Jun 21, 2011 9:43 PM ]

After much anticipation we are now offering Local Raw Honey! This honey is not altered or distilled in any way!

This honey is from our local region here in the Great Northwest from local farmers. All the flavors that are listed are naturally acquired BY THE BEES! For example: The Blackberry honey is created from bees that mainly pollenate the local blackberry plants. The same goes for every one of these flavors. We have worked hard to find a trusted group of farmers that will provide a quality and healthy product.

URGENT! Did you know that the world is going through a bee crisis called CCD?!! It is baffling the experts. What happens is that the bees are just leaving the hives and disappearing; no dead bees and no reason for their departure. Thousands of bee farms around the world are losing whole bee colonies with no end in site.

With this in mind, don't wait to stock up on honey! Also, Honey is more than just a sweetener - It is used for medicinal purposes all over the world, in fact, doctors are using honey to heal wounds that have become infected or have taken too long to heal! Read more about the wonderful uses of Honey!

Right now we have planned deliveries twice each month. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter so you know the times and places we will be meeting.

We hope you enjoy the variety that we are supplying and would love to hear your feedback on our Facebook page.

Organic Apples & Premium Sparkling Cider

posted Aug 18, 2010 3:53 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Jun 21, 2011 9:16 PM ]

Having a party during the fall and winter holidays? If you are we have Premium Sparkling Cider that is a cut above the rest. Plus, it is made by the same family farm that supplies us our Organic Apples that are now available on our site!

We look forward to hearing what you have to say about this cider.

Also, last year we had 3 of the 6 apples that were certified organic - this year 5 of the 6 are certified organic and the 6th one is pesticide-free!

We hope that you enjoy the peaches, nectarines and pears you all ordered (I am just counting down the hours!)

We love your feedback on our site and on our Facebook page - keep it coming.  :)

Peaches, Pears, Nectarines

posted Jul 5, 2010 4:48 PM by Craig Anderton   [ updated Jul 5, 2010 4:56 PM ]

Man those cherries where good! After just one week we downed 50 lbs of cherries as a family and we loved every minute of it.
Sorry to those who missed Rainiers! Never wait to order fruit when you want some because the farmers can close it down quick. With the economy as it is, more people are cooking at home and trying to eat better. This means that more people are ordering fruit and local food these days...and that's a good thing!
Peaches, Nectarines and Pears are ready to be ordered and will be here in August some time. Again, don't wait to order...these are the MOST popular fruits of the season.

Goldens, Reds and Big Boy Tomatoes

posted Sep 14, 2009 1:23 PM by Craig Anderton

Last Saturday was another beautiful day for fruit and vegetables!
We are loving the Goldens and I look forward to the fresh, home-made
SALSA that we will make this week with the tomatoes. I LOVE
this salsa.

Here is the "recipe"
 - No measurments involved...
just dice a bunch of tomatoes, onions (this MAKES a salsa in
my humble opinion - make them big chunks), do the rest to
taste...start out with just one Jalapeño - mix it in and taste.

Tomatoes (diced)
Onions
Green Chillies
Garlic
Cilantro
Jalapeños

Have FUN!
